Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

Facebook is a step away from tracking cursors on your computer and portable device screens to understand your tastes better, the company’s top official has vouched in an interview. The project is part of a huge increase in the volume of data collection.
The social site’s analytics chief, Ken Rudin, has revealed his corporation is ready to introduce a technology that would enable the collection of even more information about a web-surfer via cursor movements on your screen, the Wall Street Journal reports.
While you’re apparently aimlessly working your computer mouse or touchpad, pondering where to click next while running through a webpage, your brain is actually making choices - MANY choices at a time.
And Facebook is determined to collate them, in order to understand better how you choose your selections and what you’re really interested in, even if you’re to some extent unaware of these choices yourself.
The captured information is stored in data banks, with immediate access “throughout the company”. This is invaluable for many purposes, such as product placement analysis or targeted advertising, Mr. Rudin said. Facebook can even divulge your sexual preferences, if it needs to.
Mr. Rudin revealed that collected personal information is divided into demographic and behavioral.  The first deals with your physical whereabouts and the places you frequent. The second is more subtle as it deals with your preferences, likes and loves. This is actually more revealing of yourself and your personality.
When, for perhaps just a split second, you ponder whether to click on a link about Rhianna’s new haircut, and then refrain from following it – it won’t save you.

Collecting demographic personal information is relatively easy; private investigators have been collecting that kind of data for a long time, whereas psychological profiling is a delicate matter. But Facebook, which introduced another powerful personality data collection tool – ‘likes’ - might eventually turn artistic psychological analysis to profit.

I have heard about it but not looking into it, my Wednesday instructor was talking about it I personally use Facebook. To know my family and friends who I haven't seen in such a long time and find me, not weirdos. I saw the number rising and lowering the numbers, the last number I saw was 56.87 something like that. I couldn't remember why Facebook went out there, I had a twitter account but I don't go on there until I'm in school, not to biggy. But if something happens to Facebook I'm going to cry about it, I mean social media is such a big drama I think. Quite honestly Facebook is that, for example my cousin Rosa deleted my sister, father, and my other cousin just because we spread "rumors" about her. Which it's not true, so by deleting us makes her feel bigger? I thought it's funny, overall I have no idea what Facebook is doing, if something happens like I said I won't be upset about it.

Eos Week 4: There's an ap for that?!

What I think there should be an ap where you go inside your car your phone automatic shuts off the use of texting, I personally don't text and drive, however my aunt and cousin does and it scares me when I'm on the road seeing someone texting and driving or receiving in and out of their lane. It causes more deaths than drunk driving, I'm not saying everyone should drink and drive no, that's dangerous too! I'm saying is that to pay attention on the road than your phone, we should all pay attention on the road than our phones. I think the crashes and deaths well decrease if people pay attention on the road. Also I think there should be an ap to breath in your cell phone to detect if your drunk, drunk driving is also dangerous on the road. Even buzz driving, the ap should know if you're drunk or buzz and wont allow you to drive. If you choose to ignore the ap warning it should gps where you are and notify police to stop you. That's what I think the texting and driving the ap should cut off the texting until you reach your location and the drunk driving should let you know your drunk or buzz you can not drive or otherwise you get to talk to the cops.

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

I'm in with a mother, father, older half-brother, sister, and little brother, however my older half-brother wasn't living with us 5 he lives with his wife in Boston. So I'm the second oldest on my dad side and I'm the oldest on my mom side, between my siblings and myself we are 2 in a half years apart. Between me and my older brother I guess 12 or 11 years maybe, so there is a gap between us 3 compare to my older brother. In high school, my mother had a new schedule for her job and we have to have the house keys. At the time we were old enough to take care of ourselves, I remember when my late grandfather babysit my and my two siblings I was 12 or 13. He come by the house ever so often to see if we're ok, luckily they lived next door. So him and his wife check up on us to see how we are doing. You can say I was in the averaged family, both my parents work hard to make sure the bills are paid, cloths on our back, and food in our bellies. Sure there are ups and downs what family doesn't have ups and downs.

Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

Walmart: It’s our mission to create opportunities so people can live better. We consider it our responsibility to make a positive impact in the communities we serve. Whether it’s through the grants we provide to the thousands of organizations that share our mission or through the inspiring volunteer efforts of Walmart associates, we are passionate about helping people live better. One community at a time.

In 2012, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave more than $1 billion in cash and in-kind contributions around the world. This includes $1 billion in cash and in-kind gifts in the United States and $82.2 million in cash and in-kind gifts in international markets. In addition, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Logistics associates volunteered more than 2.2 million hours, generating $18 million to U.S. nonprofits.

I think how I can make money for good is that making the customers happy, like I explain before I'll make a clothing line for plus size people. Also for anime fans have cosplay costumes, to make everyone happy. I wanted to be affordable to anyone, having beautiful cloths without hurting your wallet. I think what I'm going for is people might like the idea, if not I might see what they most desire. Also I wanna try something for the people, like without travel out of countries I wanna try to make international clothing for people. Let see if I can make money for good, I think it'll work out ok. I also want to do something like what Blank is doing, like give kids and the adults some cloths, like if someone buys a cloths why not send them the amount was bought for. I think that would put the kids and the adults a happy face.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

The history of the Playstation begins in 1988 when Sony andNintendo were working together to develop the Super Disc. The Super Disc was going to be a CD-ROM attachment that was intended to be part of Nintendo's soon to be released Super Nintendo game. However, Sony and Nintendo parted ways business-wise and the Super Disc was never introduced or used by Nintendo. In 1991, Sony used a modified version of the Super Disk as part of their new game console -  the Sony Playstation. Research and development for the PlayStation had began in 1990, headed by Sony engineer, Ken Kutaragi.

I think for Playstation in my point of view has went down hill, I still have the second Playstation was the best I have a lot of Playstation games even the rpg ones. I was wondering what if Nintendo agrees to continue to work with Sony, it make me wonder what games and systems would be like today? I'm sure rpg would be as good as today like the new Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, and the Tales series, I Think Playstation now is a dog. Beside for the most other people point of view its in the middle, because of the Playstation move. It has brought up still in the middle, however if people wanted hard-core games Playstation brought it up to the top. Sony also has brought out PSP, that has been up to the top however once the PSP go it brought it down because some people whether not download games on a hand-held device. Once they re-release the PSP only in the light thin version of the older PSP. I think the new Playstation 4 might be at the same spot also the reason why it not a dog because of the blu ray.

In 2006, Nintendo introduced the Wii and with it several advanced, revolutionary features. Wireless motion-sensitive remote controllers, built-in Wi-Fi capability, and a host of other features have made the Wii the best-selling latest generation console system in the world.

The screen was four-colors-of-gray but the device defined portable gaming and was enormous fun. Game Boy, which came out in 1989, was closely associated with the classic game Tetris when it debuted. Game Boy is the most successful video game system ever released. Since its introduction in 1989, Game Boy has sold well over 150 million systems worldwide. Originally bundled with the game, Tetris, this little handheld became an instant phenomenon.

Nintendo have been really good to entertain their viewers, unlike Playstation and Xbox they keep their prices and systems simple. I think they're at the top, they sure have me wanted to buy the next generation they have out. Unlike the Playstation sadly I don't have many games of the last generation games. Nintendo have many hand-held games, even back in the 80's Unlike Playstation. Nintendo is the highest thing in the market. Now for the U, they might going to make it more serious gamers instead of family related. For the Wii U, I think it might be their best hit yet, because they wanted to be more serious for gamer and not only for family. So I'm looking forward to it.

Announced on May 12, 2005, the successor to Microsoft's Xbox was their second entry in the video game console market. The Xbox 360 was released in the United States and Canada on November 22, 2005, in Europe on December 2, 2005, Japan on December 10, 2005.
Featuring Xbox Live online integration, the Xbox 360 enhanced multiplayer online gaming, and eventually added a variety of services like Netflix, ESPN, and the ability to purchase or rent music, movies and television shows.
On June 18, 2010, the remodeled Xbox 360 S was released in North America that utilized a thinner body and an upgraded motherboard, and included additional USB ports and built-in Wi-Fi.

I didn't like the first Xbox because they didn't have good games out, at that time I have the Playstation 2 and the Gamecude. I didn't like the Xbox, however now I have more games for the Xbox 360 than Playstation 3. Xbox has more games I was really into and not only that, playing with friends has brought it to the middle until the connect came out. I didn't really care for, but some people really liked it. So in general it in the middle, for the Xbox One have no clue, it might be a dog. I have not seen any games I would like to by.

Week 1 Eoc: Great Customer service

My experience of customer service was good, at the age of 18 I have returned an item that the customers wish to return. I did on my best knowledge to help them. The customers and including the boss thought I did amassing job, even if the customers was being rude. I had a smile and help at the best I could. Working at Ross Dress for Less I feel I did great at the costumer service. At Sbarro it wasn't a clothing store however again I did a great job helping costumer the best I can. When I miss up at any order I make sure I told the customer what I've done and I apologize to them. The two jobs I had I said my customer service I've done I did amassing job keeping them happy.
